Minty green so fresh and so clean

This post has been inspired by the above image which is a beautiful tropical bar that is brought together by the fantastic mint green color. I believe that this particular mint offers a fresh alternative to the more cliche or expected blue or aqua that would be your typical beach or ocean themed color palette. Mint green is quite on trend and fashionable at the moment as I've noticed mint making an appearance in the fashion world and in various interior design stores. Mint green can be bold vibrant and fresh but at the same time offers a calming effect, so there is an interesting tension between the color being vibrant and attention grabbing whilst also having a relaxing and calming component to it. The mint contrasts well with the orange/red life rings on the bar sides as orange and green are quite complementary colors. The white ceiling, stool legs and tile flooring offers a bright, clean and fresh complement to the mint green. The white helps reflect more light around the room which contributes to the space feeling light and airy.

Tis the season to be...jolly?

This post was going to be inspired by my new found love of leopard print and the anticipation that it will be big this season however I have since changed tack and found myself falling (just a little) for Christmas.


Dressing in theme is always a bit 'hit and miss' particularly when the theme lasts a whole month (or more in some cases) so I thought I'd show some great ways to do Christmas in style, and hey a lot of them reflect on a lot of lessons from previous blogs - so very unintentionally fitting:

If you like to have a bit of fun try colourblocking as a Christmas statement.  It's bold yet funky and if done with some flair can make a statement that is seriously stylish.

One day I will buy a silver Christmas tree.  I'm a real silver girl and silver goes with everything.  If you want to steer clear of the traditional green and red colours for the home try finding pieces that go with your homes decor - try whites, pinks, blues and teal in a fresh light decor

Instead of dressing normally for Christmas dinner or lunch why not don your sparkliest ensemble and sparkle as much as the champagne in your glass.  It will put a smile on your face and everyone elses!

I personally love Christmas in all its shades but if you really want to get into it be prepared to put some real effort in and in some cases money into it. 

You can also bet that I'll be going bananas at the Boxing Day sales - specifically on a quest to nab those beautiful decorations that cost a small fortune before the 25th.  Its a slow process of collecting but you'll be so looking forward to your next Christmas that you won't mind waiting!

Leopard print and green

So I never really appreciated how well leopard print and green went together until Erena styled this outfit and suggested we put this green belt with my leopard peplum top. I had no idea 'leopard and green' was such a great combo. So I did a search to find a relevant interior image and turns out many other people have also made this discovery, and it really is a 'thing'. Dita does the leopard and green combo with fantastic retro glamour and style. The tortoiseshell sunglasses also have that leopard quality with the black and brown tones and complements her outfit perfectly.
